If you are new to metal working or blacksmithing please go take a welding or metal working course at your local Community College. Do a lot of reading. Learn about the craft before you just jump into it. Join ABANA (Artist Blacksmith Association of North America) Also join your state chapter if you're in the US or Canada. Most local groups offer training courses. You could also check with your local community college for a welding or metal shop course. A few even offer blacksmithing courses.
