HybridBurners.com is Rex Price's web page. I get my burners from Rex. I have seen a lot of burner designs online, but I can't imagine a home made burner working better than these. They are well worth the money in my opinion. I can go from 10 or 15 psi working pressure to 2 psi on by-pass without any kind of adjustment.
Zoeller Forge. I get my regulators and some other parts from Larry. I also got the idea for my first two forges from his atmospheric forge.
Ron Reil's web page is where I got a lot of information as I was planning to build my forge and get started. I highly recommend it.
Anvilfire.com is where I spend a LOT of time reading and studying how to do things. If you have looked at my products page I can tell you I have gotten every one of the ideas for those projects, except the penanulars, from the Iforge demos at Anvilfire. The Guru is very good about answering questions, and all of the other guys who hang out there are very knowledgeable and friendly as well.
Mojave Southern Machine Works is a nice little machine shop just down the street from where I work that just happens to be owned by a blacksmith. Jim is a great guy to work with. Very nice, and willing to share his knowledge. He sells all the parts I need to build forges, and he also makes and sells his own small propane forges based on the designs of Ron Reil. My freon tank forge shell came from Jim as well as the legs and handle. Recently Jim has started making a line of very nice punches, repose tools, and fly press tooling.
http://www.blacksmithsdepot.com/ This is where I buy a lot of blacksmithing stuff. This site used to be called Kayne & Son. They changed the name to blacksmithsdepot, but the same great people are still running it. They are also full time blacksmiths, and they know what you need to get started. Their prices are reasonable, and they are very nice to work with.
blackbeardscreations.com This is the site of my best friend Thomas. He had a lot of flakes doing his site so I finally just hooked him up and started hosting it for him. He does some pretty great leather work. If you need a custom sheath or any other type of leather go check him out.
This is a link to the Blacksmiths Journal. It is a magazine that you
may want to subscribe to if you need some good project ideas.
http://forgemagic.com/ This site is another forum that is helpful. It is a very simple layout that is just straight down the page. No fooling with threads involved. There is a very nice gallery there too.
http://www.iforgeiron.com/ This is a great resource for blacksmiths as well. The forums are very comprehensive and the blueprints are invaluable for the new smith, or even the old dodger like me.
http://www.innovationaliron.com/forum/index.php This is a relatively new forum called Metal Artist Forum where I have been spending a lot of time lately. The guys are very helpful, and I find a lot of inspiration there to do more pure art projects instead of the practical stuff I end up doing so much of.
http://www.antracit.se/ This is a big blacksmithing site in Sweden. Click on the British or american flag at the bottom to see to see an english translation. The gallery page has over 1500 photos in it. Some of it is truly amazing work.
This link really isn't a link per se since he doesn't have a web site, but if you need to get a stamp made of your touch mark or almost anything else you can imagine, then this is your place. He can take a JPG image and turn it into a beautiful stamp made from O-1 tool steel hardened so it will stamp mild steel cold. I am very impressed with the 2 he did for me.
It's Dale Cashin & Superior Steel Stamp Company of Cleveland OH. His email is: superiorsteelstamp@sbcglobal.net Please tell him you got his info from me.
Here is a link to the woodworking stuff I am doing with a friend. Totally not blacksmithing related, but it is a project of mine. http://piratewood.com
More coming later.
